The brain is a machine that makes sense out of sensory input. You hear a bird chirp, you see a bird on a branch outside, it makes sense to you. The bird is singing. Or maybe you just hear a hissing sound from the kitchen, without even looking there, it makes sense to you. Someone is running the tap.

I try to explore new ways of making sense in my brain. What is the sound of blue light? What would the screech of an elevator door look like? Can I make it make sense to me? To you? How can something obviously artificial be percieved as real?

Multi dimensional wave theory is a public artwork created as a collaboration between painter Andreas Sjöstrand and multimedia artist Kristoffer Wilhelmsson. Unveiled in december 2021 at Sankt Eriksgatan in Gothenburg, the artwork consists of a mural painting and a superimposed projection. Combining techniques from performative painting, op-art and projection mapping to dynamically create an intersection between static and moving patterns, the piece constantly invites the viewer to find a new equilibrium in the experience.
